The Body Talk
“The Body Talk” project, created by Nikky Scott Inc., is a one hour, group-based discussion that confronts body image and disordered eating. This project was created for girls ages 10-18, in the minority population. Eating disorders are typically associated with young, white females, making this a rarely discussed topic among Black teenagers. The truth is, eating disorders, along with body image issues, affect people from all walks of life at a similar rate.
The objectives of “The Body Talk” are to:
dispel the myth that eating disorders only affect a specific population,
and to open a healthy and healing dialog about body image.
This discussion is lead by Nikky Scott, MSN, RN, CCM. Read more about “People of Color and Eating Disorders” HERE.
